: This study was approved by Nara Medical University’s Medical Ethics Committee (protocol number 111 / 2006) and all the experiments performed were in accordance with the tenets in the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its later amendments. Written Informed Consents were obtained from the participants before starting this study.As of 2019, the Fujiwara-kyo study has been approved by the Hyogo University of Teacher Education’s Research Ethics Committee (protocol number 2018–11/ 2018) as well as Nara Medical University’s Medical Ethics Committee and is currently ongoing as a prospective cohort study.
