: The Clinical Hospital approved the BRISA study (code 4116/2008) in Ribeirao Preto. The Maranhão University Hospital Ethics Committee approved the project in Sao Luis (code 350/08). All methods were carried out following relevant guidelines and regulations.
: All participants provided informed consent before completing the initial baseline questionnaire. All participants aged 18 or over and able to provide their consent read and assigned the consent form. The adults responsible for the children who were evaluated provided informed consent for participation in the research. Where requested by participants or deemed necessary by participants due to lower literacy, the full consent form was read to participants, as approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Maranhão University Hospital Ethics Committee and the Clinical Hospital of Ribeirao Preto.
