Ethics approval and consent to participate
: When designing, and performing the study, the researchers were guided by ethical standard principles. The research project was reviewed and endorsed by the North West Wales Research Ethics Committee (15/WA/0237). All data collected was stored in line with the University of Liverpool data storage policy (), and handled in confidence in line with the Caldicott principles. Patients received verbal and written information about the study, and they provided their signed informed consent to participate before the interviews took place. Patients were also informed about the voluntary nature of their participation, and that they had the option to withdraw from the study without specifying a reason for doing so, at any time.
