: Ethical approval was obtained from the Regional Ethical Review Board in Lund (Dnr 2015/4), and the project was registered in the Clinical Trial database for clinical research (NCT02708498, first registration 15/03/2016). The Declaration of Helsinki’s guidelines [CitationRef removed] guided the KUPA project and this substudy. This study was conducted in accordance with the Swedish Ethical Review of Research Involving Humans Act [CitationRef removed] and the General Data Protection Regulation [GDPR] [CitationRef removed]. The responsible leaders at the municipality level gave written consent to conduct the study in the current nursing homes. Before the start of the project, the participants received both oral and written information about the purpose of the substudy, how the data would be treated confidentially, and that the participation was voluntary and could be stopped at any time without giving any reason. Informed consent has been obtained from all participants. The results are reported to maintain confidentiality.
