We stated to them that their participation in the study was voluntary, and that because we were aware of the sensitivity of the topic, that they may withdraw from the study at any time. They were assured that all data would be kept locked in the student’s office and destroyed after the PhD thesis was completed. They agreed and all signed the written consent form in their own names even though an option was given to them to sign with a pseudonym.
