: Ethical clearance and approval were obtained from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the School of nursing and midwifery, College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University with the Protocol number of 062/20/SNM. An official letter was obtained from the Department of Nursing and Midwifery. Additionally, permission for data collection was obtained from the TASH head office and oncology center. After explaining the purpose and possible benefit of the study, oral and written informed consent was obtained from each patient before starting data collection.
: For confidentiality, the names of the participant were not recorded instead codes were used. The study participants were informed about the right to refuse to join, ask any question or withdraw at any particular point during the data collection process without being frustrated.
