: Ethical clearance was obtained from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of University of Gondar, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Institute of Public Health. The study was performed in accordance with the principles and guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki. The heads of health institutions were consulted and permission was obtained prior to data collection. Head of each health facilities has written letter of permission (Ref No/IPH/6387/2013 with date of issued 08/03/2021). Written informed consent was received from the participants before interviewing them. A separate room was prepared for interviewing each woman. The benefits of the study explained to the respondents. In order to keep confidentiality of patients' HIV status nurses working in the ART unit was involved in the data collection and supervision process. Confidentiality of the information was maintained throughout the research project by excluding identifiers like name, in the questionnaire and keeping their privacy during the interview.
