: The University of Gondar's College of Natural & Computational Science ethical approval committee provided the letter approving the ethical clearance (reference number: 02/03/977/10/2014). After the University of Gondar referral hospital's oncology department also received a floppy copy of the research proposal, a letter of approval was acquired to conduct the study in the hospital. Every safety measure was taken to ensure the subjects' confidentiality and privacy during the research process. The informed oral agreement was obtained because there were no outpatients with breast cancer at the University of Gondar referral hospital when the data were collected. Prior to performing this study, both institutions accepted the use of informed oral consent, which was obtained from study participants over the phone. For those study participants who died, we used the caregiver's phone number, which was registered in the patient card, and they had given informed oral consent. Outpatients' cards were retrospectively evaluated from May 15, 2016, to May 15, 2020, for those who agreed to take part in the study, to gather data on their socio-demographics, medical histories, and treatments. Participants were informed of the study's goal and aim by the data collectors. Data collectors explained the objective and purpose of the study to the participants. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
