: <i>Loranthus micranthus</i> leaves were collected from different wild host trees, <i>Psidium guajava</i> and <i>Parkia biglobosa</i>, as stipulated in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Institutional Guidelines for Plant Collection. A plant taxonomist, Mr. Alfred Ozioko, collected the plant. The farmers who owned the various plant fields gave permission to collect the plants. All the studies involving experimental animals were carried out as specified in the ARRIVE guidelines and revised National Institute of Health Guide for Laboratory Animal Care and Use (Pub No. 85–23, revised 1985) together with the ethical procedure of the Ethics and Biosafety Committee of the Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Nigeria, Nigeria (ethical approval number: UNN/FBS/EC/1075).
