: All clinical skills teaching activities in the study follow the "trial method of standardized residency training of the Ministry of health of China," "implementation plan of standardized residency training in Shandong Province" and "implementation rules of standardized training of residents in Department of Anesthesiology of Qingdao Municipal Hospital." Informed consent was signed by all of the patients prior to receiving radial artery puncture and cannulation. All the medical postgraduates who underwent SRTP signed the training agreement before entering the hospital. It is the obligation of medical postgraduates to receive skill training, so there was no written informed consent for the medical postgraduates receiving training in our study. However, informed verbal consent was obtained from all medical postgraduates. The ethics committee of the Qingdao Municipal Hospital of Qingdao University approved this consent process and also specifically approved this study (approval number Y-042).
