: The research was performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. This qualitative study was assessed by the Danish Regional Committee on Health Research Ethics for East Denmark and was exempt from approval (H-18018465). The project was part of a quality assurance programme at Rigshospitalet, where the education supported the study. East Denmark Regional Board of Postgraduate Medical Education invited and identified the trainees, via an ongoing formal evaluation and quality assurance programme in postgraduate medical training.Documentation on approval of the study by the Danish Regional Committee on Health Research Ethics for East Denmark is available upon request.All respondents provided informed written consent. The information stated that answering the questionnaire was voluntary, that full anonymity was guaranteed, and that data were handled in accordance with Danish regulations on data security. Results were analysed anonymously, and results from small specialties (<ten trainees) were not reported separately. By agree to participate, trainees also accepted their answers would be used for publication. No identifying information has been or will be published. Of the 85% who initially agreed to participate , 17% were excluded, leaving the remaining 68% for inclusion in the analyses. Fifteen percent declined to participate and were not part of the study or analysis.The first question in the electronic questionnaire was used to obtain consent, which all respondents provided.
