Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study was approved by the Council of the Nursing Degree Course of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, seat of Reggio Emilia. The identity of the respondents was protected at all times. A box was used in which the completed questionnaires were filed. This ensured the maintenance of anonymity. Respondents were provided with a complete instruction sheet that included: an explanation of the research and its purpose, what was expected of the respondent, a declaration of anonymity, and an indication that the completed instrument would have the value of informed consent to participation of study. The participation in the study took place on a voluntary basis. The data were processed in compliance with the regulations in force in Italy (EEC Clinical Good Practice, Ministerial Decree of 15 July 1997 and following ExternalRef removed) and the principles of the Helsinki Declaration. The rules of the competent Ethics Committee were respected even though the approval process was not required for this type of study. Furthermore, it was authorized the involvement of nurses belonging to the study by the “ASP Reggio Emilia – Città delle Persone”, by the private clinic “Villa Verde” of Reggio Emilia and by the “Azienda Unità Sanitaria Locale” of Reggio Emilia.
