The study was conducted following the ethics principles of the Declaration of Helsinki [CitationRef removed] and the Finnish National Board of Research Integrity (TENK) [CitationRef removed]. Approval for the study was given by the leaders of the healthcare sector in the healthcare districts in the two regions. After approval, information and an invitation to participate in the questionnaire were sent to the head nurses of all 75 nursing homes in 19 municipalities in the two regions, who were requested to distribute the link to the questionnaire to the emails of all nursing staff. Information about the study was provided to the participants in the email, including guaranteeing their anonymity and their right to withdraw from their participation without giving any reason.
