: The study followed the responsible conduct of research (RCR) guidelines set by the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity (2012). Ethical approval was granted by the Regional Ethics Committee in Higher Education Institutions. In addition, permissions were obtained from the higher education organizations from which the data were collected. Participation in the study was voluntary. Informed consent to participate was taken from all participants. Students were told that although playing the game was integrated into the studies the participation in the study was voluntary and would not affect their grades or academic evaluation. Students were also informed about the information being collected and its purpose. In collection, storage, analysis, and reporting of game metrics, compliance with the Data Protection Act was ensured. Each participant had a unique research code, which was used to combine all data (pre- and post-test, game metrics); data were processed anonymously.
