: Luigi Lepore(LL1) is an associate professor of Business Administration at University Parthenope, Naples, Italy. He has been a Visiting Researcher at IE Business School (Madrid) and at Institute for Court Management (Williamsburg). His research interests focus on Corporate Governance, accounting and public management. He teaches business administration, accounting and public management. He has participated as speaker in several international conferences, including annual congress of European Accounting Association, European Group of Public Administration, Italian Chapter of Information System, European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management and the European Academy of Management. He has published numerous articles in journals, including Journal of Management and Governance, Corporate Governance: The international journal of business in society, Journal of Intellectual Capital, Information System Management, Management Control and Financial Reporting.Concetta Metallo(CM), Ph.D., is an associate professor of Organization and Information Systems at University Parthenope, Naples, Italy. Her research interests are: technology adoption by organizations and usage behaviours, social media usage, e-government. She has participated as speaker in several international conferences, and she has published papers in journals such as Government Information Quarterly, Behaviour & Information Technology, International Journal of Public Administration, Information Systems Management, International Journal of Technology Management, Journal of Computer Information Systems.Francesco Schiavone(FS) is an associate professor in management at University Parthenope, Naples, Italy. He received the Ph.D. degree in network economics and knowledge management from the Ca′ Foscari University of Venice (Italy) in 2006. He is also an Affiliated Professor in innovation management at Paris School of Business and Visiting Professor at IESEG Business School (France). In April 2017 Professor Schiavone has been habilitated as Full Professor in management by MIUR (Italian Ministry of Education and Research). Currently, his main research areas are technology management, strategic innovation, communities of practice, and healthcare management and innovation.Loris Landriani(LL2), PhD, is an associate professor in accounting at University Parthenope, Naples, Italy. Currently, his main research areas are public utilities, economic evaluation, governance and control in public administration.
: This study does not include any data on subjects, human material, or human data from patients. All the data were provided by voluntary answers to a questionnaire by the employees of the hospitals. Participants received information about the study verbally and also by written information at the start of the data collection. Participants were informed that the study was voluntary, that they could drop out of the study without explanation at any time, and that confidentiality was guaranteed. Participants agreed to participate by responding to the questionnaire. The survey was presented and accepted by the Executive Board of the hospitals. All the data were collected anonymously. All data material was stored in a database in the University of Naples Parthenope, with a high level of security. No other ethics approval was necessary to be compliant with the Italian regulation.
