Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical approval for the study was obtained from the Institutional Review Board of Jimma University (reference No. RPGE/449/2016), and from the University of Ottawa with ethics certificate number of H10–15-25B and documented at both Jimma University and university of Ottawa. For written consent, participants were given time to read the consent forms and to ask questions before signing. For oral consent, the objectives of the research and ethical issues related to safety, confidentiality, and privacy were explained to uneducated participants in the local language before asking if they agreed to the interview or focus group. Additionally, verbal consent to audio recording and being photographed during the interviews was also obtained from each participant.
