: The data for this manuscript were derived from a Training Needs Assessment aimed at identifying the gaps in management of malaria in children in the private health care facilities. The project was categorized as a Quality Improvement project and therefore did not require approval of an Institutional Review Board. However, clearance to conduct the study was sought from the District Health Offices who are responsible for the service delivery in the private facilities according to the Ministry of Health structures. At the private health center level, verbal consent was sought from the health centre in-charge staff or their representative to carry out the assessment. All providers were free to either participate in the study or not, at any point of the assessment. Standard measures to maintain confidentiality were followed including anonymizing the data collection tools (no participant’s names were included) instead using codes to identify participants and all patient files and data were securely kept, at the stud offices.
