: DA is a primary care physician and is VP and Chief Quality Officer at Community Health Center, Inc., a primary care federally qualified health center which began building its own electronic consultation (eConsult) program in 2010 to expand access to specialty care for its marginalized, uninsured and underinsured patients. That program led to the creation of a nationwide, not-for-profit eConsult provider now known as ConferMED (incorporated in 2015), which now supports FQHCs and other safety-net practices in 26 states. In addition to his role as President at ConferMED, he is Director Emeritus of Weitzman Institute, a research, evaluation, education, and policy organization, where he currently serves as a Senior Research Scientist. LB, LG, and IV are members of the research team at Weitzman Institute, which works to ensure that effective, efficient, and equitable care is available to all. At the time this work was conducted, TA was Chief Medical Information Officer at Lone Star Circle of Care, a large federally qualified health center with > 55 clinics in two dozen hub locations spanning 6 counties in central/southeast Texas. She is now Chief Medical Officer at Care Message, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to helping underserved populations improve their access to healthcare using mobile technology.
