: All methods for this observational research were carried out in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations from the Declaration of Helsinki. Approval for conducting this study was obtained from the University of Cape Town’s Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC REF 235/2023) and institutional approval was granted by the tertiary institution. A waiver of informed consent was granted by the University of Cape Town’s Human Research Ethics Committee since this study focused on the patient journey rather than sensitive, individual patient information. It met the conditions highlighted in category 7 of the HREC Standard Operating Procedure (Version 7.0) as it relates to the US Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) guidelines and the South African Ethics in Health Research Principles, Processes and Structures (2015) for a waiver of informed consent.
