Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Participation in the present study was voluntary as according to the Helsinki Declaration, and confidentiality, privacy, anonymity and respect were emphasized. The study was approved by the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology, by the Office of the President, as well as by the Norwegian Regional Ethics Committee for Medical and Health Research.The managers of each children’s home gave verbal permission to carry out research with individual duty bearers, and a written informed consent was obtained from each participant.
