All eligible participants who had signed the consent form were included in the study. The study, Improving the experience of Dementia and Enhancing Active Life: living well with dementia: IDEAL, was approved by the Wales Research Ethics Committee 5 (reference 13/WA/0405) and the Ethics Committee of the School of Psychology, Bangor University (reference 2014–11684). IDEAL-2 was approved by Wales Research Ethics Committee 5 (reference 18/WA/0111) and Scotland A Research Ethics Committee (reference 18/SS/0037).
