: The study protocol was approved by the Institutional Research Board (IRB), Deanship of Scientific Research, Al-Neelain University, Khartoum, Sudan. Hydatid cysts were collected from slaughtered cattle during post-mortem inspection by qualified veterinary officers at Al-kadarou slaughter house, Khartoum North, Sudan. Formal consent and permission for research use of hydatid cysts were obtained from both the university and abattoir veterinarians. In this study, no experiment was conducted on live animals.
