: Preparation of rabbit antisera was performed according to the Interdisciplinary Principles and Guidelines for the Use of Animals in Research, Testing and Education issued by the New York Academy of Sciences Ad Hoc Committee on Animal Research and was approved by the First Local Committee for Experiments with the Use of Laboratory Animals, Wroclaw, Poland (approval no. 23/2015). The infected geese or ducks were sent to National Veterinary Research Institute for diagnostic examination (commercial study) in order to detect Derzsy’s disease virus. Permission for collecting the specimens used in our study was not necessary, because the owners of infected birds sign the contract allowing the taken samples to be used in scientific research.
