: The research and methods did not involve any housing, experimentation on, or use of, research animals. The clinical data from cats are anamnestic data, and samples analysed were leftover serum samples and urine from routine sampling of cats sent in by attending veterinarians. The studies were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations in respective country, and only after consulting with the relevant authorities. In addition, permission for the study of cats admitted to UDS was granted by Swedish Board of Agriculture and Linköping Ethical Committee (D.nr. 12462 − 2019). Informed consent for participation was collected from respective cat owner, and all data is presented with the permission of the cat owners. The ethical permission for the observation of bait intake in wild mice during extermination of an infestation of wild rodents was granted by the Norwegian Environment Agency. No additional animal studies were performed. All methods are reported in accordance with ARRIVE guidelines (ExternalRef removed) for the reporting of animal experiments.
