: The animal study protocol was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal production (Centro Servizi Veterinari), University of Naples, Federico II (PG/2022/0093419 20 July 2022). Animal handling was performed following the guidelines of the guiding principles for biomedical research involving animals. Owners were informed of the objectives of the study through their informed consent. Blood samples from cattle and water buffaloes were collected by veterinarians according to the good practices of veterinary medicine.
