Reasons include the medical records or biological specimens used in this study were obtained from previous clinical diagnostic, the risk to participants in this study is no greater than the minimal risk, exemption from informed consent does not adversely affect the rights and health of participants, participants' privacy and personally identifiable information are being protected, the study is unable to proceed if informed consent is required and this study does not utilize medical records and specimens that the patient/participant has previously and explicitly refused to utilize.
