Declarations
:
: Customers recruited for the study were approached as they were finishing up their purchases and in some cases, were recruited by store owners, and referred to the research assistants to complete the bag check and intercept interview. We used all available data in analyses, and have shown how sample sizes differed by analyses, in Table InternalRef removed. Table InternalRef removed shows the differences in demographic factors over the years, and propensity score analyses were used to adjust for these differences across stores and over the different years of data collection.
: This study was reviewed and approved by the East Carolina University Institutional Review Board (study number UMCIRB 16–002420) and all participants indicated verbal consent as required.
