: Interested participants were instructed to click on an individualized link included in the recruitment e-mail, which directed them to an eligibility screener survey. Once eligibility was confirmed, participants were given the opportunity to review an IRB approved Study Information Sheet which described in full the various data collection components, as well as the risks and benefits related to their participation. Participants could then choose to opt out of participation or to continue on by starting the Kids EAT! online survey. Per IRB recommendations, consent was assumed for those eligible participants who chose to continue on to complete the survey. The University of Minnesota’s Institutional Review Board Human Subjects Committee approved all protocols used for the Kids EAT! study; ethnics approval number STUDY00006249.
