: Paired trigeminal ganglion (TG) specimens and peripheral blood were collected from deceased brain donors by the Netherlands Brain Bank (NBB; Amsterdam, The Netherlands). The NBB obtained written informed consent for brain autopsy, use of clinical specimens, and sharing of clinical information for research purposes from all study participants in advance. All procedures of the NBB have been approved by Ethics Committee of Amsterdam University Medical Center (VUmc, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; project number 2009/148) and are in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.
