: Ethics approval was obtained from the institutional ethic boards at Drexel University (1612005048) and University of KwaZulu Natal (BFC023/17). We solicited written informed consent from adolescent mothers aged 18 or older. For an adolescent mother younger than 18, we obtained written informed consent from her parent/guardian (with adolescent mother’s permission) and obtained assent from the adolescent mother.
