: The authors for seven ethnoornithology studies: South and North Zapotec, Cuicatec, Tzeltal, Tlahuica, and Kiliwa followed the International Society of Ethnobiology Code of ethics, and also North Zapotec and Cuicatec were approved by the School of Anthropology and Conservation Ethics Committee in the University of Kent. Overall, in each ethnoornithological study local authorities were informed of the interest in carrying out the research and a final agreement was stablished through a community assembly.
