Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study complies with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation standards, and the study has been registered at the North Denmark Region (ID: F2022-151). The regulation is supplemented by the Danish Act on Research Ethics Review of Health Research Projects. The authors showed consideration for the need for ethical approval, however for registry-based studies without direct patient encounters, the act reads that no approval is needed from an ethical committee. The requirement for informed consent to participate and to access medical records from individual participants was waived by the Danish Patient Safety Authority (IDs 3-3013-2707/1 plus amendments 31-1521-14 and 2022-011290).
