Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical approval was obtained from the Ethical Committee on Research at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi-Ghana. Verbal consent was obtained from all individual respondents included in the study. The ethical committee approved and accepted our approach of verbal consent considering the possibility of having respondents who could not write or read. As part of the agreement, the verbal agreement was also tape-recorded to serve as a binding contract between the two parties (researchers and participants). Participation was solely voluntary and no form of inducement was used. Respondents were not given any monetary incentive for participating in the study. The findings were devoid of the names of the respondents which helped in ensuring anonymity.
