: GB is an infection control specialist who performed his PhD under the supervision of JCL, on the intra-operative behaviour and the consequences for risk of infection.
: We received ethics approval from “Nantes University Hospital, Groupe Nantais d’Ethique dans le Domaine de la Santé” Research Ethics Board to conduct the intervention. We obtained a waiver of consent for data collection on patients and staff because we are not obtaining any identifiable private information from them. We obtained a waiver of consent for the study intervention because it was deemed that our intervention posed minimal to no risk to patients. Surgeons and anaesthetists in charge of the patients will provide details on the research to the patients through an information letter validated by the Research Ethics Board.
