Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Approval for the two TAS surveys were received from Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (Togo)’s Bioethics Committee. Additionally, written informed consent was also obtained from all surveyed persons for the two TAS. For the ongoing surveillance considered as a routine activity of the national programme, each person included in the study was informed of the objectives of the survey and the oral consent was obtained before the blood collection.
