: The survey was carried out as part of an interventional project to accelerate interruption of onchocerciasis transmission by vector control. Before the survey, ethical clearance was granted by the Regional Ethics Committee for Research in Human Health for the Centre Region (no. 905/CRERSHC/2019) and an administrative authorization was granted by the Centre Regional Delegation for Public Health (no. 624/AP/MINSANTE/SG/DRSPC/CRERSH). The objectives and schedule of the study were explained to the District Medical Officer, the community leaders, the community drug distributors and all volunteers before requesting a verbal consent to participate. Participation was entirely voluntary, and all individuals were free to opt out without fear of retaliation from their community leaders or programme personnel.
