: The protocol was reviewed and approved by the National Research Ethics Review Committee (NRERC) of Ethiopia (Reference No.: 10/31/2018) and Jimma University Institute of Health, Institutional Review Board (Reference No. IHRPGD/362/2). Permission was also obtained from the relevant Buno Bedele and East Wollega Zonal Health offices, and the Arjo-Didessa Sugar Factory, Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. Verbal consent was obtained from household owners to set CDC-LTs and PSC methods for mosquito collection. All malaria-positive index cases identified by microscopic examination of blood film and rapid diagnostic tests at PCD clinics were treated as per the national malaria treatment guideline for free by the attending health professionals.
