: Ethical approval of the present study was obtained from the Ethics Committee and Animal Welfare of Centro Nacional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (CENSA), Mayabeque, Cuba. Approval Code: Record nº1 11–2021, Approval Date: November 4, 2021). The blood and tick sampling, as well as animal handling, was carried out by registered veterinarians.
