Ethics approval and consent to participate
: An initial study aimed to detect<i> C. difficile</i> infections in fecal samples from patients with diarrhea was approved by the Universidad del Rosario’s Research Ethics Committee (Approval Act No. 290, July 27, 2015). In addition, an addendum was approved, which authorized the additional use of samples for research purposes aimed at the description and characterization of any microorganisms present in the human gastrointestinal tract (Approval Act No. 312 April 28, 2016). All patients (adult) signed the written informed consent.
