: hMuStem cells were isolated from skeletal muscle biopsies from patients aged 13–19 years who were free of known muscular disease. All patients underwent surgery for acute scoliosis at the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) de Nantes (France), and provided written informed consent. All protocols were approved by the Clinical Research Department of the CHU (Nantes, France), according to the rules of the French Regulatory Health Authorities. Biological sample banking was compliant with national guidelines for the use of human tissue for research (Permit numbers: MESR/DC-2010-1199; CPP/29/10).
