: This research was in compliance with the Helsinki Declaration and approved by the ethics committee of the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, Kiel, Germany (protocol identification: A133/04 and D411/12, respectively). Informed written consent was obtained from all donors/participants. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) were freshly isolated from umbilical cords and ethical approval (protocol identification: D482/14 and B315/15) was also provided by the local ethics committee of the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, Kiel, Germany.
