The university hospital’s institutional ethic committee waived the need for informed consent because our observational retrospective study did not modify existing diagnostic or therapeutic strategies, clinical data were stored in individual charts on hospital servers, which were biometrically protected, and the extracted data were analysed strictly anonymously.
