: The national coordinators had several key responsibilities, including recruiting ICUs, managing both national and local ethical approvals, and overseeing patient recruitment on a national scale. Ethical approval was a mandatory requirement for participation in the study in each country. However, due to variations in ethical consent procedures, some countries were able to enroll patients without the need for informed consent, while others had to obtain it.
