Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study was approved by the Ethical Committee on Research Projects, Enugu State Ministry of Health (Ref Number: MH/MSD/EC/0192). The participants were fully informed about the study objectives, their role, the risks involved in the study, voluntary nature of their participation and that they could decline or pull out of the study any time they wished. Copies of the questionnaires were administered only after receiving written informed consent from all participants. Confidentiality of the disclosed information was also assured and maintained to minimize potential risks to respondents. Completed questionnaires were kept secured and coded with each participant’s identification number. We also registered the trial retrospectively with the Pan African Clinical Trial Registry (ExternalRef removed) database. The identification number for the registry is PACTR201901779740173.
