: Approval to conduct this study was obtained from the MRRH - research and ethics committee (reference number: MRRH-REC OUT 016/2020). Identification numbers were used to ensure anonymity and no linkage to the clinic data of the participants. The data collected was kept confidential and only accessed by persons directly involved in the study. All participants provided written informed consent confirming their voluntary participation in the study. All participants below the age of 18 years were emancipated minors and were regarded as so during the consenting process according to the Ugandan law [CitationRef removed]. The mother was not penalised or denied maternity or infant care if she declined participation.
