: The study was approved by the Scientific Advisory Committee and Human Ethics Committee of ICMR-National Institute of Occupational Health (ICMR-NIOH, Ahmedabad, India) [CitationRef removed]. The primary data for the cohort was obtained from an online database of people with tuberculosis (TB) available at https://nikshay.in/Home/AboutUs [CitationRef removed]. Since the data used in this analysis was obtained secondarily, no informed consent was applicable. However, permission and access to the data were provided by the Gujarat State TB Cell and the Gujarat State TB Operations Research (OR) Committee, who had the necessary permissions to use the peoples’ data for the purpose of research [CitationRef removed]. The study was carried out in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration. The research team had complete access to any data accessed and/or gathered. To protect patient privacy, we identified the people with TB using the IDs provided by the national TB program. We ensured that the data were de-identified to maintain patient confidentiality throughout the study.
