: Abdominal BALF and blood were collected as standard practice during routine care in the intensive care unit. ECMO was the last treatment for this patient, but he could not recover from it. At a multidisciplinary conference, we decided to use MSCs on a compassionate use basis under the approval of the chief medical officer of the hospital, the hospital ethics committee, and the patients’ relatives. This study has been approved by the ethics committee of the Capital Institute of Pediatrics (Ethics number: SHERLLM2020003).
