: We captured and handled bats in the field in accordance with guidelines approved by the American Society of Mammalogists [CitationRef removed,CitationRef removed], in addition to the requirements of the statutory study permission provided by the national authority responsible for wildlife research: the Forestry Administration of the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Fisheries. As animal ethics committees did not exist at the time of our study in Cambodia, all study aspects were overseen by the Forestry Administration who participated in the field investigations.
