: YS is a third-year medical student at Dalhousie University. NJ was an Otology Fellow at Dalhousie University and is currently a consulting ENT surgeon and senior clinical lecturer at both Sydney and Macquarie Universities, Sydney, Australia. DPM is a Consultant in Adult and Paediatric Otology/Neurotology at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Science Centre in Halifax Nova Scotia and is an Associate Professor at Dalhousie University.
: Institutional permission from Nova Scotia Health Authority Research Ethics Board was obtained to conduct the quality assurance of the new MIPS technique. No formal ethics approval was required as per Article 2.5 of the TCPS and therefore no review number was generated for this project.
