: The SMART surveys in Chad are approved by the ethics committee in the Ministry of public health and prevention under whose leadership the surveys are also implemented. This study used secondary data from the SMART surveys and was further reviewed by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Institutional Review Board and received a not human subjects research determination. Permission to conduct this study was given by the World Food Programme, Chad, and all methods were performed in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations. As data was secondary and anonymized, consent from participants for this study was not required.
